Leather Skirt

Usually I stay out of pop culture on the R&G as the only thing I want to pop is my funds. But, sometimes that bullshit mountain that ya’ll love to entertain reaches to the clouds and starts fvcking with GODS so I have to send a warning down. LOL Now I’ve seen some homothug shit in my lifetime as I remember when I was a kid I thought Prince dressed like a woman. I thought most of the people who were popular singers sang like women. Shit, I remember when Madonna dressed more like a man than a tranvestite.
But, this Kat Kanye done took it to a new level. I remember when Andre 3000 wore a quilt and said he was part Irish and no Black person agreed but we gave him a pass. But, Kanye decided to actually make it leather and make a statement. So I have to make a statement and think if you are even on the fence about this kind of shit you are a chauncey ass kat. I know some of you kats little brothers are looking for where he bought his shirt/skirt from. I know someone will rock the one that has a nike swoosh on the front being a follower and a customer at the same fvcking time. I know some of you are trying to find the good in it like a bum ass album or song they keep playing on the radio.
My grandfather told me something about wasting time on stupid. He said “Ain’t nothing good about shit, if you stick your hands in it you’ll have shit on your hands, smell like shit and be part of the shit. So it’s best to not even try, investigate or find the good in shit” So shit it is and Kanye created some shit.
I’m with Cam’ron on this one as the skirt and hoodie with Pyrex on the back probably is my definition of homothug!

Look at the NBA players…cats rocking hot pink leather pants and “man-purses”. Bisexuality is in for male and females…both wear the same things. Bikinis? Dress? I can see it coming. Hiphop will co-sign it.
I saw Whiz Khalifa wearing a LOVE shirt in the video with Curren$y that fit him like a blouse. I’m only 26, but most of the younger guys I talk to have a strong feminine energy about them. I get my eyebrows waxed, nails manicured, and hair faded every week, but I like to look crisp at all times. Besides, I have cystic acne, so I try to take care of my skin and face. Although most would say this is too much, I can’t co-sign this movement to blur gender lines.
I remember when old folks would say no one will respect you with your pants sagging. Brothers were walking around in ill fitting clothes with a death grip on their waistband looking very clownish. Now who’s going to respect this current fad?
Doing a quick browse of “the Wiki”, I see that men wearing “dresses” is a pretty ancient thing that eventually was put to rest in the West (aside from judges and college graduates wearing “gowns”). That aside, I stay away from trends like this.
I’m at the age were I’ve seen enough trends and fads to know that it is way more beneficial to not get caught up in the critique or dialog about the trend, its a waste of time and followers will do as they wish….they want leather skirts…pleather dresses…wool blouses with Dora and sponge bob on them…high heel yeezy’s….now I know what to carry for 25%-75% off retail at my shops. I’ll be in casual SAO loafers, khaki’s and a generic polo while I’m selling it to them…grown man style here.
@Miles – Well Ye ain’t the first but probably the most well known since Rowdy Roddy Piper and they were wearing quilts not straight up skirts. Like I said whenever I hear anyone say they are a artist I think here we go with the dumb shit. @AH – I can’t excuse the pink either but it ain’t a skirt. If there is a scale for homothug one is a color and the other is a outfit. The outfit wins everytime as you might think a mfer is suspect but that skirt confirms it.
Real talk homie you it’s just a good rule of thumb to not listen to anyone who is on drugs, used to drugs or wishes he can do drugs. Just like weights can change your appearance… over time those drugs will change your mind. So when you see mfers cosigning dumbshit you know they are on drugs. Most if not all the devils they put in front of our faces our drug addicts. If I don’t respect them on the street why would I respect anything they speak.

Freeman you went old school on this and not in a good way, having done a bit of travel outside of the US this comes across as slightly ignorant. Traditional garbs all over the world have men wearing skirts and dresses. Fiji men were Sulu (basically a sarong), scottish wear kilts (which is what kanye has on), chinese and arabs have tunics. I see this as I don’t like the leather pants underneath, but I also see this the same way as an exboyfriend of scottish heritage “easy access”!

Most people are weak and they’ll adjust the way their whole lifestyle based on what weaker people think. The attack on manhood is a approach from the weak who know they don’t really want to deal with someone who doesn’t change because of the masses. So they start a campaign to make you accept all kind of homothug angles. They tell you to smile and not be a threat to anyone. They tell you not to be aggressive.

I see both sides of this metrosexual angle and in their own ways both are right. You are supposed to tow the line of manhood but still stay true to yourself. If you want to wear a skirt and blouse and rock a mean man purse that’s completely your prerogative and I won’t give you hell about it.
