Pushing the Pay

Every interview I have done for Dollar15 I had to be ready. I mean truth be told what do I have to offer them in return for pushing my book to their audience? It ain’t like they getting a cut of the profits nor did I mention them in the back of the book in the credits. I didn’t cut some kind of deal with these kats saying if they put me on I’ll sub back on my shit. I simply sent them a email and most of the time a free copy of the book to look over. But, if they said FreeMan call in at 2:37am and 32 seconds Guatamala time homie I would check into it and make the shit a reality. Because truth be told I ain’t helping them with shit and they are cosigning my book.
I say all that to send out yet another PSA. When you are asking someone to help you out and there’s nothing for them to gain don’t be all pushy when it comes to getting your product out to get paid. Everyone knows the game and you’re the only dumb mawfvcker expecting professionalism with no money on the table. It’s like you forgot that the other kat in this deal is making room for you to get your money up. You forgot that most of these kats are supporting your infantile ass efforts in the beginning of your hustle. You forgot that you think you wrote a masterpiece and they think you are pushing high school angles on grown ups.
See when I get anyone reaching out to me I respond like the cat got the keys to the rest of my life. I know that these little cosigns here and there turn into money. I try my best to return the favor to them by mentioning who they are, why they are and how to get down with them in my links to sub back to their angle. I am indebted to them because when Dollar15 goes diamond and the shoe is on the other foot I’m doubling back to these kats to push the pay back their way.
Long story short recognize where you are in this game and act accordingly. If you have nothing to offer stop expecting big shit like you paid. Fall back young homie and keep grinding as that’s what I do. For every interview you see on this site there’s probably 20 who didn’t even bother to hit me back.

I had to learn that lesson recently, because I didnt have the budget I had to rely on free help and I was getting pushy because the progress was slow. But I had to realize they are not getting paid and have no real motivation to help me I appreciate that help they gave me but I’m falling back until I have enough bread to really pay folks so shit can get done how & when it needs to get done.
Kats are starving and they start running low on sugar so they start getting angry at FREE! That’s why kats have to keep it moving so they don’t get caught up thinking this dude is his big break. Everyone is a big break when you start at ZERO!
Money is the key as that makes people take your shit and hurry up and get the shit over with. AKA Customer SERVICE.
I can definitely relate. The angle I’m on (showing independent rappers how they can create a thriving career from their music) is one that most people would think childish and silly. That’s why when I show them proven and time-tested techniques that not only keeps artists from getting pimped by the industry but shows them A-Z how to create for themselves and their families, most people I’ve come across disregard the fact that I’m talking about rap because they see the true end justified by the means: rock solid business concepts.
I’m also guilty of pushing the FREE angle too hard at times. I forget that the enthusiasm for my angle may not be the same as the person I’m trying to build rapport with and I can come across as pushy when all it is is excitement.
Bruh it’s all part of growing up and pushing your product. People don’t really care if you come up and don’t care to support you in anyway. So for those who do you have to fallback and let them determine the way in which they want to help.
Like I said your idea might be straight from GOD to you but to everyone else it’s just another idea to read. So you have to understand and humble yourself in order to be effective in this game.
