Contracting

Contracting is defined as an agreement between two or more parties, especially one that is written and enforceable by law & to reduce in size by drawing together; shrink. Now I’m contracting at this gig right now for the next 3 to 6 months so it’s funny to see how business goes down. When I came in I got a desk and started working as they told me the desk I was sitting in the girl was on maternity leave. So today the girl comes back and they just fired her and said they aren’t hiring for anyone new in that position as they are contracting!
Damn, this game is cold than a mawfvcker as I just kept my eyes on my chips and my business but my ears heard it all. The new plantation runs the slaves in a tighter drumline around here so they are all business and hardly no lip. But, the girl that got fired came in and was celebrating her baby and then they pulled her aside and said she’s fired. Her aunt works in the place and she thought it was fvcked up too but what can she do as she might get fired too. Of course the other slaves talked a good one about how fvcked it was but the majority of them got extra quiet.
I absorbed the whole game with my 3rd eye and ultra game sensitive ears. The fired girl is walking around asking people for recommendations or a good word about another job. People were saying keep your head up and it’s business so don’t take it personal. People were saying we will eat lunch this week or next. All these well wishers who can do nothing but wish you well.
It made me remember when I was in the same situation and that time shook me to give all I had to this chip game. I know she was trying to keep a good face on to the devil but that mawfvcker cut her cold with a new baby to boot! I was going to offer typical FreeMan theology but since I’m really really babyfresh new to the plantation I thought it was best if I handle mine and get mine and get the hell out of there when the time is up. They caught me off guard like that before and it changed me forever.
Shit I wanted to tell her she should be contracting with the devils so if they contract they still have to pay you the agreement. I don’t give a fvck if they say they don’t need me anymore as in my contract is full payment of the time spent so I’m sure I’ll be around to the end of my… MY aka I set this shit up …. CONTRACT!

Nothing seems to surprise me in this game. These people are skandalouz but I guess that’s just business for them as usual….
I’ve worked with some cold ppl before but NEVER that cold. Damn she just had a baby! They could’ve given her a heads up before she came in there and left the same day looking all stupid. SMH
Oh they better watch what state they are in, up here she would have gotten a lawyer and went to town! Leaving to have a baby is covered by FMLA. That baby’s baby would be set up for college. But I hear ya unless you are going for a STEM, these places are playing hardball. What a lot of black folks aren’t being taught is more and more plantations are going contract, I see it all the time in th PNW. And it’s not just tech companies either, however we are still being raised to get a good job, get a good education work somewhere you can retire from. No No NO, not anymore!
I’m approaching a contract job that will pay better than I’ve ever had and last 6-9 months. Whereas only a year ago I would’ve been thinking about the sucker shit (new video games, sneakers and women) I would buy with the excess cash, now I see it as a unique opportunity: I’m gonna get these chips and go back home to work in the family business while using the stacked money to get a medical billing license and start up a company of my own on the side! Here’s what excites me more than anything too: this will be the last job I ever have to work. I’m looking at my own personal Proclamation Emancipation and all I have to do is go get it! Even if the contract extends, I have my eyes set on 6 months and I’m not even gonna trip on the possibility of sticking around not one more minute even WITH the nice money.

I aint never seen anything that cold blooded before on the plantation. I get told im an @$$hole & jerk all the time but even I couldnt have done that. I do understand businesses have to make cutbacks sometimes but some of these plantation managers dont realize is that some of these folks will snap & be waiting for you in the parking lot when you get off. Ive seen it happen.
I always found it funny how jobs want you to give a 2 week notice before leaving but they will turn around and let you go in a heart beat.
@Miles I used to think that contract was bad, then after getting fired after 10yrs because my work wasn’t up to snuff (10yrs really?) I see contract as a blessing. You don’t have to work with the idiot employees for too long. Now I have my own and studying Medical Assisting and loving it!@A.B. I got called a b* all the time, but I was a b* that got stuff done. Then all of a sudden I wasn’t doing my job (I have paperwork to prove otherwise). It was the happiest day of my life when they gave me my walking papers!
What kind of contracting do you guys do? What skills does is require?
@Hking – What was funny/cruel about it was just a day or so earlier she was showing everyone her baby. Walking around the office like it was Baby Jesus to the game. Then when it’s time for her to get back to work they let her go. DAMN! Made me know what kind of devils I’m working with. So it’s operation GET THE DOUGH & GET THE FVCK OUT!
@Keish – I couldn’t believe it myself as I was thinking she needs to go and get lawyered up too. But, it is what it is and money over everything is the way the game is.
@TK – I think she was like a long term temp or something. I don’t think she was ever on the book books if you know what I mean. But, somehow someway they still let her go.
People don’t realize the game has changed so you better be about your change! What I do is cut throat anyway and it’s all about production and profits. So I been around this angle since I stepped into the game and that’s why I don’t hesitate to get out when I see the sky get gray.
Most Suckers want a good job so they can dress for success. Hustlers only work so they can get the Money! Once the mentality changes you stop getting caught off guard.
@Miles – You’re starting to see the game like me. I’m just doing whatever keeps chips coming in while my big plans take time to germinate and manifest. Can’t sit around this world watching and waiting got to keep cash coming in no matter what it look like or who you might be next to.
Execute the plan brother and no one will be able to stop you. You’ll use them for what you need instead of them using you and giving you a some damn pat on the back.
@Jay Bird – Bruh, when I first stepped on the plantation the devils took me to lunch and shitted on everyone in the office. I just thought to myself I’d better be about my change because Day 1 is already sucker shit.
@A.B – Bruh see you and I grew up knowing you take away a Man’s money you might not be walking right for the rest of your life. Now these fools know the average Sucker got twinkie filling in them so they say and do all kinds of wild shit to them.
Once you realize you don’t have to make them whole while they take a hole out of you then you win this game. It’s stick and move, cop and blow, get the money and go. Any other way of seeing this game is fvcking stupid!
I am not surprised about anything that happens on the plantation. I had an overnight job and they told me that if I dont work faster that I was going to be fired. I just left a month later on my own terms.
Another job let me go after someone went in there and told them I did something illegal. I was like wtf. I didnt do that. They said they dont have that type of drama in the work place. Not in those words ofcourse.
Since then I treat the plantation how ever the he11 I want. I dont care about them like they dont care about me. I go in keep my moth quite and leave whenever I feel like it.
I show them no mercy. Im glad I am young enough to learn they dont care about me
It’s just a realization that you are there to make money and they are there to make money off of your labor. Once you understand that dynamic you stop listening to people who are Suckers to this game.
People will think it’s fvcked up but it’s only fvcked up because the woman didn’t understand her place on the plantation. She should’ve been saving for a rainy day a flood and a typhoon not for her sake but for her own daughter.
You don’t have to be angry about it at all. Just realize the mawfvcker across from you is trying to win this game and part of his game is using you the fvck up. So you got to be smart and only do things that benefit you and when that benefit runs out you get out!
