50th Law of Power – Book Review
Reading time: 2 – 2 minutes
Finally, got around to reading the book and I feel bad that I let my own thoughts of “I’m about a dollar what the fvck is 50 cents” get in the way of good game. First, off it’s like any other Robert Greene book aka it’s backed up with historical facts. Second, Robert Greene can find the vitures of a serial killer. Third, the sprinkling of 50 cents life and thought process was interesting and bold. So I have to cosign the book as a worthwhile read.
In fact I read this book every night for the past week just before going to sleep. I seem to absorb more when everything is quiet and I can concentrate. It also gives me time to think a bit about what I am reading. Needless to say when I got to the end of the book I actually wanted more. The game is so simple to understand but 50′s tactical execution of the game is what makes this book so valuable. Being able to understand the changing climate and knowing when to get in and get out. Knowing how to build a team and then knowing when to let them go.
I might have to double back and read it again now with a more open mind. But, if you have the chance to download it or get it used or even buy it new I would recommend it. Most of us who come from the bottom have a lot of these skills and attributes in spades but don’t know what to do with them. In this book you learn how to use them and get an example of someone who used them masterfully.

Yea, this will be an all time fav of mine. Even got it on ipod for those quick refresher sessions while driving or training.
My best chapter would have to be Respect The Process – Mastery.
Some believe just wake up and *snap* into success. Sh8t takes tiiiiiiiiiiiiime yo! And hard as phuc work. Hell it took 50 10+yrs + multiple set backs and few life/death encounters. As I grew to study TRUE entrepreneurs, the fact is that of the 9 outta 10 that don’t fail in the first 3 yrs and the 9 outta 10 that don’t fail in the 5 years after THAT, it still takes a MINIMUM of 10+yrs ON AVERAGE to build a successful business. All the while you are walking the tightrope.
Folks always quick to look for quik fix, but truth be told, Mastery of whatever the endeavor takes practice, commitment, and time
It’s definitely part of the collection with 48 laws and 33 war. It took me a while to read it because I was hating myself on the cat so I had to get over it and I’ll never let that stop me from learning again.
Like I said I read it everynight and when it was over I wish there was more. Great Book!
Well on TV people get rich everyday and it makes a naive person believe something is wrong when their hustle takes a while.
Since this book is also a favorite of mine, I just had to reply.

I’m only got through half of The 33 Laws of War – need to finish it off. Yeah Greene summarizes some useful tactics. The scary part is knowing that there are sociopaths out there waiting to slay folks with these tactics and not think twice about the consequences.
End of the day.. there are no MORAL shortcuts. You can get ahead quick by jacking someone, you just have to be ready to always look over your shoulder after doing so. Screwing folks over is no substitute for a good night’s sleep.
Like I said in my earlier reviews of Robert Greene’s books the knowledge in his books are deadly. You and I both know there are (sociopaths) who are using the knowledge like a sword instead of a shield.
These books are the true definition of Knowledge is Power!
Great book. Curtis Jackson’s execution is on point. I learned from this book..to enjoy the boring stuff too. Ase is right…most cats don’t make it. I think it is interesting to read a book about a person that did these moves 10 years ago too and is still here today.
True indeed! It’s from mind of a cat who did it backed up by the mind of guy who can explain why shit is good enough to eat. So it’s a helluva combination!
