Fools Rush In

Just because you don’t see a cat produce anything doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t planning to do so. When you are young in the game you might make a mistake of thinking a cat isn’t really about it because it’s obvious to you. But, in the end a fool rushes in to a opportunity without thinking first about the pros and cons. This happens all of the time because the fool believes if he beats the Hustler to the point he’s a better Hustler. But, the goal is to make money NOT to prove that you are better than someone else.
This same thing happened to me not so long ago. I was contemplating a move in a small format but when I ran the numbers the money wasn’t good. So I fell back from it and tabled it for a later date. I have a lot of ideas that are good to make a move on but since I’m concentrated on money the time might not be right. Well this other cat who overheard what I was saying decided to run and do it for himself. Now me, I don’t care as money is everywhere and the young cat can have it. But, he failed to really do the math and ended up losing money. Now the Foolish part about it was the cat kept on losing money month after month. He was trying to keep his head up but in reality any cat who can add can see the numbers weren’t right. Then the fool tried to make it a teachable moment like it was a noble thing to lose money!
When a cat who has money falls back from making money it should make you think a bit! When someone comes up to you with a opportunity to make money and the cat acts like he can’t do it then you know something is up. What a fool usually does is hurry up and take the Sucker spot and ends up losing. See the fool thinks to stop and think about something actually shows you aren’t about it. But, in reality stopping and thinking about it is actually the sign of a person who knows money can be made and lost by not doing some simple recon on it. Most cats can never understand the ways of Money because they are operating from a position of being broke!
Take your time and don’t let the emotions of the hustle get to you. Don’t ever ever ever believe that someone who already has money must be a fool for not pulling the trigger on something you think is a slam dunk. Lastly don’t ever try to compete against cats who already been there and done that as your actions will seem foolish. Money isn’t a one time offer in this world it’s really weighing how much money will actually be made. Fools think it’s about a whole bunch of action and proving to others that they are businessmen too. You proving that you are a businessman makes no money for you so why be foolish using that as your motivation.
All of these foolish actions just show the cat who makes money that you are not Real! There are lot of people in this game who think if they don’t see progress then there’s no progress. They think you should be running around like a chicken with your head cut off trying everything and losing money but saying I learned alot. Don’t be foolish like the fool talking like that. The goal of this game is to make money not to run around trying a whole bunch of shit. You have to learn to take a educated risk (aka recon the angle) so you don’t lose money and say a Suckerism like I learned a lot!

I am the same way. My personality is just like this. People attempt to tell me that my slow approach won’t work. It’s not that they are sure of it, it seems they just say it just to say it. Most of these dudes that say that to me are in debt or just broke while not feeding their kids. People can rush into the hustle, but their staying power is always little.
It’s the classic stupid saying of do something but when it comes to money you go broke trying. I get it because I talk a lot about what I want to do. Sooner or Later cats start thinking I’m full of shit because I don’t do it to their liking. So I wait until the time is right or at least better. But, what the haters are really saying is “IF you’re this Hustler why don’t you make money” Since I am not a magician or a trick I don’t do things because a audience is waiting.
If you start a business to prove to someone you can run a business you are a fool. Keep the emotional stupid wanting to show everyone you are smart angle out of this game. It’s just a sign that the cat talking to you is not about his money. Anyone about their money will know why you are waiting and thinking more about opening up shop. Most of these cats love to talk about others but never do anything theirselves.
First let me commend you on your R&G facebook page. I joined it last night and have read all your posts even added a few comments to some of your comments.
As always Freeman you hit the nail on the head! There are many people rushing into all sorts of so called opportunities and then getting burned. Most don’t do the numbers before they jump in and get their hands dirty.As for me i always approach a opportunity with skepticism in that i will not jump in until i do some research about it. Run numbers research the Pros and Cons of that opportunity and if it doesn’t match then i dont go for it. My wife gets mad at me when i do that she says that i’m too slow and should jump in and then figure everything out later. Unfortunately for her she does not understand the aspect of business. I almost got into a house during the so called Free Money years of Real Estate because of her. But in the end i told her and showed her the numbers and called the agent and backed out! It hit her even more when the market fell and was glad we did not get into that mess. Unfortunately for others they are paying the price right now.
You can never tell a good book just by reading the title,You have to open it and read what its about!

Glad you like it and hopefully in the near future it will be a place where everyone can break bread. It’s going to take a month or two for me to make it more than just what I am thinking. But, we’ll get there!
I used to have the jump in and figure everything out later but in this recession jumping in is stupid. People are not normal nowadays and thus it’s better to really think about whether you have a product that will sell. If this was normal times you wouldn’t have to think about timing but since we have time might as well use it to really gather as much data you can.
Just before the recession I was working on a healthy affordable restaurant in downtown LA. I gathered all the data … rents, equipment, permits, inventory, suppliers, putting cash aside for salaries and everything under the sun. I went and sat down with a friend whose family ran a restaurant. His father told me not to do it in this environment because people are cutting back on eating out overall. So I took his advice and I thank GOD that I did because it would’ve bombed.
So when people from the outside wonder why you aren’t doing anything they must be ignorant. To push a line without paying attention to reality is financial suicide. It’s not a matter of being scared, hesitant or cowardice. It’s a matter of being smart with your money and really being real with yourself and saying it’s not going to work. So you table it for better times which I have done for a lot of my ideas.
You can’t judge a book by it’s cover but you can judge the economy and the times you are in by looking at what people are buying.
I can see Myself on both sides of this. As a yung Hu$la with a “ready,fire,aim” mentality, I lost some and I also gained some. But also since loooooong before I got in the Game I ALWAYS knew the benefit of watching, listening and learning from older-seasoned katz. That also allowed Me to be ahead @ Life in general.
To your point of due diligence when screening opportunities , you’re ABSOLUTELY right when you have a singular-laser like focus on chip$ its almost like having a 3rd eye to the Game.
Nothing else matters except will & how is this opportunity Profitably
A lot of people want to be a businessman by title instead of by chip$. So they always want to act like being out there doing something means something. But, again this ain’t no show this is money and if it don’t make dollars it don’t make cents/sense!
I can see when a cat is hesitating. An example would be a cat who got too many orders to handle and he won’t grow. But, since most of us are not in that situation we need to vet all of the opportunities to see if they really make money.
In this game you want to make sure you do recon on all angles on things we never did before. Not so we get it right the first but to make sure we get it right when it’s time. So all the information you can grab before you start is great. And, if you get that 3rd eye wisdom to know something just ain’t right here I say use it. I know I do!
Good stuff again. I peep what you wrote me yesterday. Thanks for the advice. Emotions can mess your hustle up. You and g71 are right about doing things based on facts and not assumptions. From the above I’ve decided to let some things go until 2012. Emotional desperation and trying to prove your the best businessman isn’t smart to me anymore. I’ll chill and let the fools have the fool’s gold out here.
Now I’m not discouraging you from starting a business BUT if it’s not there it just isn’t there. No matter how much we really wish it was. We can’t make the mistake of rushing something based on as you call it emotional desperation to prove other people wrong. This is is about money and it has to be handled differently. It doesn’t mean you won’t bring the human element to it but it has to be minimal as this whole game is about execution.

I was listening to one of the older podcast “lesser man”. It makes me wonder about everything I was doing or thought I was doing as far as being a man. Been out my peoples house since 17, 16 depending on your point of view. I did some things that didn’t work out like I wanted. Now I’m struggling to get by while I finish school. Every one telling me to man up or I’m not being a man. Not there anymore but who gives a fuck about that. Like what the fuck does that mean to me. I was doing x,y,z and people considered me a man and when shit hit the fan I’m no longer considered a man. I consider myself a man no matter what anyone tells me. I’m about my business. My question is do I have to get back to where I was before to be considered a man again?
I know people say you shouldn’t use your anger to prove people wrong but I feel like the hate is all that’s left. I want to prove everyone wrong. That my reason for wanting more money than I can spend in my lifetime. I want to go up to them and spend/throw away thousands of dollars while they complain or tell me to give it to them. Then have my driver take me across time so I can shit on the next person that shitted on me. Its like I got vengeance on my mind and I cant stop. Its more than the money to me. Like the “Count of Monte Cristo” but I aint that dude. People telling me to walk away you got money. But I just cant! I want them to suffer like I suffer. People say Im greedy but I want more.

I have a podcast coming up dealing with emotions but I’ll answer the question anyway. A man is not taken away from you when you are beaten down it’s only challenged when you refuse to stand up. To them maybe you were running from standing up and handling your business and now that you are they still doubt you. Know that you created that doubt in them by taking your time to straighten it out.
You are angry because no one patted your back when you were down but instead questioned your manhood. So you want vengeance to tell them “Look I was always a Man” but what will that accomplish. You failed homie and you have to crawl through the shit of your own creation. Be a Man about that and accept the hard times you endure only because you took the good time for granted. No one caused you to fall you fell on your own. Only a baby keeps crying and throwing tantrums because they don’t get their way. So you want them to change their tone about you but you haven’t fully finished crawling out of the shit you created yet.
You know what’s in you but you didn’t live it everyday. Your family and friends saw you going down and tried to spark your ego to prove them wrong. You are mad they used that tactic? What other tactic do you use on a man who seems to on a spiral downward… LOVE? You think they made a hard time even harder right? But YOU are the one that created the root and the tree and you are screaming at the leaves.
How in the hell is someone supposed to know you are the guy who can rise from the ashes? We are just supposed to assume it’s everyone? When we see many a cat stay down and never get up! C’mon homie you need to keep building and drop all the spit in the face with champagne. Look at how you sound homie talking about tricking to show them you are alright. What next you going to sell cocaine to show them you can work with the drug cartels too? You going to go and fight Mayweather to show them you can take a punch?
I’m not trying to put you down because I know exactly where you are coming from. But, it ain’t going to accomplish shit but cause more problems. Many a people saw you fall homie and no one even cared. Even when it’s bad it was showing that they cared. Now you want to come back Born Again & Brand New because they chose tough love to snap you out of it? C’mon brother you are better than that. Do what you got to do to get back on top and learn the lesson of falling. Dust yourself off and use that anger to build your empire. Focus it on your task, your mission and your reason for fighting.
We are not babies We are Men! You fell and you failed homie.. .own it! Now let’s get back up and fight!

I dont know if its emotion. I get over things quickly. I just want to personally pay every one back. I dont think it was tough love. I never asked them to help me before. I always knew what needed to be done and how to attack it. I accepted the situation and everthing that happened but, I just cant let the hate go. Im fueled by it.
I sent a message on the back channel. but I will like to add If it seems that I am mad not really. and I aint with all that emotional homo thug shit. Its just the lie that I was forced fed that gets to me. And the more i listen to your podcast the more outrage I become.
Well use the fuel homie! Use it to not only get through college but onto law school and onto the empire if you have to. Use it until it runs out because right now charged with that anger you should be supremely focused. That adrenaline is for fight or flight and I’m sure you’re in the fighting mood.
Also stop listening to the podcast if it makes you want to shit on people. You got the lesson and it’s in your head bruh so let it marinate cuz I sure as hell didn’t say all that to make you enraged. Look at the end of your journey you’ll find out there are a lot of things that happened that you couldn’t change. You can’t change your parents, where you grew up and even how you dressed. To come back seeking vengeance against the folks who couldn’t help anyway is going to be awful. It’s like slaughtering the weak. You made it out of that and you are building again so hopefully you can let it go.
But, like I said plenty of cats think their life could be better and should’ve been better. But, in the most phony phrase of all time “It is what it Is”. You got out homie and if you don’t want to look back don’t. But, don’t let that emotion of vengeance be something that slows down your growth.Channel it to be better than average but don’t let it slow you down.
So what if time is short on the project, say for instance you are trying to get a spot, but because of its location it is wanted by other hustlers, should that compromise your thought process?
As long as you are concentrating on the opportunity and not beating other people to a spot then no problem here. But, if you aren’t ready to make money and you rush out there then what’s the use? It’s the same tactic a department store uses when they say limited time and you end up buying shit you don’t need.
Opportunities have to be ready to be capitalized on otherwise you are pretty much cock blocking. You can’t do anything with it but you don’t want anyone else to have it. So think about what you are really trying to do.
