Chips Are Down – Podcast
Reading time: 1 – 2 minutes
A lot of you cats quit if you can’t see a Win eventhough most of you cat’s have never won in your life. Even more of you cats keep thinking when I talk about business that it’s a all or nothing thing. And finally a smaller percentage of cats think you are losing because the current track you are on is slow. When the Chips are down you have to do what’s in front of you and that means any opportunity is worth doing. Life and business is not a straight line so you need to train yourself to take advantage of anything in front of you…. instead of quitting thinking this isn’t going to work.
I couldn’t help but put the video where I got the intro from. If you ever want to know if Black people contributed to the USA just look at the white girl dancing on the left. WTF I couldn’t stop laughing. Damn the two step must’ve saved some lives.

Freeman,
One of my favorite quotes ….
Thinking is the hardest work there is
-Henry Ford
It’s a hard activity however, most people that are rich are great thinkers
It’s easy to do something without a strategy or plan
We all have 4 seasons– Winter, Spring, Summer , Fall. We must adjust to the seasons because they will come. Be Prepared! Some of us are just going through a rough winter right now. I went through all seasons, I just made sure my winters was temporary
Most people get fed up too early in the process. That’s what happens when you watch TV and you think it’s a matter of making Tshirts and waiting for everyone to recognize you’re great. Since they don’t really have a plan with goals and milestones they fall off and quit. Most people are always looking around thinking they could be doing something better when in reality it’s the best angle they have.
I just get tired of people not doing what they have to do. We can prepare for something big but we have to do what we have to do. Everyone goes through rough times but the success stories are of the ones that didn’t fold. These seasons as you say are short periods of our overall life so we have to learn to grit it out accept the ways of the world at this moment.
Man Freeman you’re right emotions and young hormones will mess you up especially when things are so simple! They make you think it’s all impossible.
Everyone wants everything right now and it sets them up to do desperate things. The controlling of your emotions whether up or down is important. None of us are ever trapped it’s just we haven’t really thought of a way out. We need to constantly think about improving ourselves and you’ll find out you are never trapped. In this game with money we need to keep moving until we reach the top. That’s the discipline!
It’s a long life homie but when you are young it seems like a couple of months is forever. When you are get older you’ll think a couple of years is alright. The mix is somewhere in the middle. Young enough to be impatient on waiting your turn and old enough to realize this may take longer so I need to just grit it out.
Man bruh when you said “if your not going backwards your going forward” that hit home because I know i’m not where I plan to end up, but being broke I cant fade that at all, so until I can get my business up I have to support myself the 9 to 5 way.
Man I know to many cats who have the “all or nothing” outlook who would rather be leaches & petty d boys than get a gig and work they’re way up from scratch the lottery ticket angle, that could never be me.

Just wanna say thanks Freeman for the golden game. You say you’re not a guru but if it wasn’t for the R&G I know I still would have made it to the right path, but it would have taken a lot longer. I’m doing things at 24 that I probably wouldn’t be doing til much later in life.
Hangin out and kickin it is poison to your future. I’m always doing SOMETHING whether it be teaching myself Spanish, reading a book thats heavy on game, or makin deliveries. I work a job on the weekend, run my own taxi business, my own auto detail business, and serve the fiends – yet I still come home and sit at my computer to accumulate more knowledge, rather than fire up netflix or a videogame.
I think a lot of people let their friends hold them back, like I did for awhile. I’d be reading a book or researching something and someone would pop in, and it was instant chill mode.
Now when people stop by my crib, I’ll continue doing what I’m doing, and now people actually sit back and watch in amazement at something so simple as a motherfucker reading or clicking around on rosetta stone.
@PM – You’ll get out of it because you want to get out of it. Just because we know a way out it doesn’t mean we’re going to get out fast. But, if we make a plan and stick to the code we’ll be out faster. Shit, bruh I’m feeling the recession too but whenever things get bad I go back to the game that got me here. Humble myself, stick my head down and plow through this shit. Never turn down a opportunity even if it looks like it’s going to take me off the path I laid out.
Most cats watch TV and they watch entertainers. So people sing on American Idol and then they get chose. Since most of us have to build to get our money then the way of entertainment is not similar at all. We do the best with what we have and that means making the best choice from what’s in front of you. A lot of cats are lost and that’s the bad thing about the game. A lot of us are out there doing anything to get it but if we knew where it would pay I’m sure cats would all be in business taking loans out from school to finance the hustle.
@BMR – Proud to see you are applying game at a young age. Wait until you are a decade in with this knowledge and you might be the youngest cat with a legit empire that everyone has to respect.
As you do so do I! I spend a lot of my time reading things, doing recon on angles and keeping my eye out for opportunities to make money. It’s what got me out of the ghetto and so I will never forsake it for fake shit. Once you get your money up you’ll know this game and it’ll be easier to build.
I think I found me a little hustle for now. I was thinking about all the chicks that wear false hair. Then I thought to myself how can I get in. To make this short…I went online and found a wholesaler. I can get $70 weaves for 20-40 a pop. Im about to go in.
If you know someone who is a beautician I am sure she can tell you what grade/quality weave to buy. You can be the middleman on a lot of the weave angles because cats aren’t even thinking about importing them. That whole industry is Black so why not skip the Koreans getting the hair and go straight to the Chinese and the Indians on Alibaba. Slap your name on it and call that shit Blue Magic homie! LOL
@Everyone on this list…we will succeed.
@LMJ..I agree. Seasons. Yes. Even bears hibernate in the winter..and get up in the spring to get honey.
That’s how I’ve been looking at all my moves lately. I think you have to eat in this game in steps. Buffets happen after your empire is built. Otherwise…keep moving to the next meal in the game and be thankful. I recently got a big winter in my life healthwise. So I said screw it…do what I need to do to heal but still keep going for the spring everyday. I expect to fail everyday. Things happen all the time..doesn’t mean I won’t make it. Definitely makes me look at life different. Takes alot of discipline to keep believing in victory when life is telling you to stop and die.
Thanks for the message today, Freeman..I needed it. Now that song is in my head. LOL.
Hey you’re welcome! The song isn’t the part that sticks with me… it’s that woman dancing like she is possessed on the left side. Some folks have their own ways of expressing theirselves and everytime I see it I can stop laughing.
I’m saving this Freeman:
“None of us are ever really trapped it’s just we haven’t really thought of a way out. We need to constantly think about improving ourselves and you’ll find out you’re never trapped”
Now that I think about this its true because I noticed it’s easy to look at someone and see what they need to do to get their life together but it’s always hard to do it to yourself.
I guess that’s why so many older men say go get an education because you need it yet can’t take their own advice!
I agree with this wholeheartedly. Sometimes you have to take what you can get to build what you need at the moment. Life doesn’t just fall into place. You have to put it into place like a puzzle.
So many people think “hustle” is about shining/balling or being involved in illegal activity. Hustling is just doing whatevery activity you need to do to get more money. It could be working a job until your business gets set up. Or working in construction until you finish your degree. Or piecing together different jobs/side hustles together to make a living.
I laugh when some people are struggling and/or unemployd yet won’t take a lesser job. They think that they “deserve” to have the job they were laid off from. They fear what they will look like doing blue collar work. Or they will feel like they are working beneath themselves if they take a job in retail until they can get another corporate job. I guess they aren’t hungry enough and they will continue to suffer in vain. I’m with you…no money is beneath me.
I’ve taken different types of part-time jobs/side hustles to make more money because in my mind, more money is good money. No matter what type of work it is. Currently, I work marketing/promotional events for a local company a few weekends a month. Nothing special about it, but it brings in a couple extra hundred dollars a month to save towards my goals. So, I’m all for it. I’m not above doing what I need to do.
@JB – The older cats never go back because they think they can’t better theirselves anymore. So to them 3 to 4 years to get a degree is not worth it. That’s why they and I stress for you cats to finish school early so you won’t be a Old Sucker who tells everyone else to go but won’t go for theirselves.
Everything in this life is temporary pain and joy. So endure the tough times and do what you have to do and enjoy the good times and know they might not be here forever.
@MCD – I think I would be more worried about actually being broke instead of looking it! People just think they have been educated with random books and now they deserve the money. They think their experience makes them more valuable. All of this is smoke and mirrors and that’s why they don’t have a job because it’s worthless.
My angle is I just want to make money. I don’t care how the hell that comes about so I never worried about people saying I’m doing something beneath me. Whenever I tell someone I am a lawyer but I am not practicing they all look at me funny. When I say that to practicing lawyers they always ask me why did I even go. I usually have to explain I’ve been running my own business but it still baffles them. I am sure they think I didn’t pass the bar when in reality I have never saw the need to take it.
In this life we have to take the opportunities that present themselves. If we keep moving forward we’ll definitely get to the top. Most cats are just short sighted so they quit on something really dumb. There’s a million ways to make money so why would anyone think getting it in a million different ways is somehow beneath them. We’re all trained in something but that doesn’t stop us from starting a business if we see money can be made in that direction.
So do you think to be on top one would have to go for a degree? Or maybe just a certificate so that we can just keep it moving? Or would this be aiming low?
About 99% of all the cats you see on top finished college. The 1% everyone cites like Bill Gates or Puffy are exceptions to the rule. Those cats were determined and got lucky. The majority of cats who drop out of school are not that brilliant, not going to the garage to work on Microsoft or are not missing class to promote Mary J Blige and Jodeci. So most cats think it’s worthless like the school is stopping them from being something great. It’s a mistake that Men make all of the time and they spend the rest of their life dealing with a childish emotional response to hard times.
A certificate is good if it’s something you can get plugged into right away and make a business out of. Otherwise the certificate will make keep you stuck welding, plumbing or installing electrical lines. The company will never let a cat with a certificate manage anything because HE DIDN”T GET A DEGREE! So the certificate is only good if that cat wants to make a business of his own otherwise it’s a trap too.
Look at the game this way. The guy with no degree/certificate picks up the boxes. The cat with the certificate drives the trucks. The guy with the degree tells the certificate guy and the no nothing guy what the fvck to do and doesn’t lift shit.
So in this game the degree qualifies you for things that are unseen to you at this time. People think it’s worthless but look at the cats saying that to you and pay attention if they are just mad they fvcked up in the past and is trying to cover for it. We as MEN have to righten our ships and if we chose the wrong road we need to be MEN and go back and correct it.
Aiming low is just code word for justifying fvkcing up in life. All cats know they should be doing better it’s just they don’t like to admit they messed up.
You dropping wisdom 3-4 years isn’t long at all because the last 3 years already blurred. I went from 18 to 21 so fast
