Greedy or Hungry
Reading time: 2 – 4 minutes
You get to greedy you go home hungry! I was just watching a show on Discovery Channel called American Underground. The cat had some other guy with him pretty much schooling him to the illegal way that they take your credit card information and then use it. Then the cat turned around and sold the computer he bought on craigslist and came up 300 cash and unloaded the merchandise in under 1 hour. In my lifetime I have blown many a deals trying to get too much of a good thing when I already had a pretty good deal in place. It’s a harsh lesson to learn but I thank GOD I’m not learning it with illegal credit cards at Best Buy.
Greedy cats eat past their capacity and Hungry cats get their fill and move on. I gamble this way whenever I play craps in Vegas as I hardly if ever lose, primarily because I walk away when I come up. I never double down thinking I got a such thing as a hot hand when the whole damn thing is literally a pair of dice. Most cats who don’t learn the difference usually burn out in business. The cat I started the business with got out of the business primarily because the money got slow over 7 years ago. Now I hung in there being humble and thinking I’m 3 times more than a job so if that’s slow I’ll take it. I was eating pretty good so I never thought about cheating my clients or associating myself with any other cat who was greedy.
Now there is a difference between Greed and Capitalizing on a situation. If I was a Bear standing at the mouth of the river and all the salmon were coming back to spawn I’m going to capitalize on it. But, even then I am not going to eat so many that I just do it for sport messing up the salmon numbers for next year. The Greed usually kicks in when most cats think they can just do whatever they are doing for fun. Instead of learning to respect the way the money comes in and plotting a way to get it this way forever, the Greedy cat usually destroys the way he came up.
You get to greedy you go home hungry! Once you know how to make your money pace yourself and figure out how to get it forever. The majority of people get so happy and feel invincible that the angle they found sooner or later brings them down.

What up Freeman, this is so true.
That’s why I like to watch American Greed on CNBC because it teaches you things to not do in business because what goes on in darkness will come to light. I’ve seen in the church, my family and countless other business people that try to get over. I have a cousin who did a 10 year bid for robbery. He got out 2 years ago and the first thing he began doing for chips was selling weed. He was like Smokey off of Friday where he was smoking and not making enough profit for his connect and that led to them pistol whipping him, taking his big screen and what ever money he made out his pocket. Me being a 25 year old man in could be see that coming 5 MILES away! Some people are so greedy that they don’t care if they get killed or end up in jail. When I was first in the process of starting a photography business, I must admit, I saw a lot of opportunity in the market here and started to think about the money a little more than the art and it threw me off my game a bit. Luckily I had a true hustling cousin in Staten Island I could talk to when I lived there 5-6 years ago who schooled me on how to get money the right way with the right heart. Sometimes we all need a wake up call and some others are just grimy as hell. In business you have to see a mans spirit because if it ain’t right, he ain’t right.
good post, greed keeps hustlers in the dope game to long. Instead of cashing out they keep at it eventually get caught and start from the bottom all over again. Learning how to walk away is something everybody needs to learn.
@ManUP – If the market is there to make money it will be there. Your goal is to keep cranking out quality product and that’s how you build a name and quality. Most cats just try to do to much and end up with shotty quality aka look at WalMart! It’s a discipline to understanding how to pace yourself in business and to not ruin your own customer base.
Everyone gets caught when you put greed in front of the money. Rather illegal or legal it’s the same law. Slow down and keep building and stay hungry!
@CF – Bruh now that’s the truth. Cat’s got a whole lot of raw cash but can’t walk away when they know they have enough to get out of their predicament.
