Selling the Dream – Podcast

Reading time: 1 – 2 minutes

I remember I had a interview with a Brother who ran a insurance company. Now I didn’t get the job but before I left he pulled me to the side and said “Everyday we are selling ourselves and our products” As I started trying to make money I always wondered why my products weren’t selling. I always thought I did all my homework and figured out all of my costs. I even copied game from other cats pushing the same product. Until, I finally realized I wasn’t selling anything I was just presenting!

I thought for sure you fell off on Friday but everyone needs a break. I like this podcast because your right I don’t sell I just tell. I just present the product to cats and don’t say how it will work for them. You got me thinking too damn early in the morning about what I’m doing wrong. Thanks

Sometimes I get caught up in my regular life and I don’t queue up a topic. It happens!

Don’t sweat it I was the exact same way when I started out. I thought if I had a good product it would sell itself. I had to learn everyone wants to be persuaded even if I’m lying about it. Closed mouths don’t get fed, well closed mouth hustles go broke.

It’s never too early to get your mind right!

real talk i am in outside sales for a beverage company, a major one as my 9-5 and we had a major executive tell his sales force ‘Never let the truth get in the way of a sale’ granted it was said in a tongue and cheek kind of way but it underscores the point. Always Be Closing

Do what you got to do to move units! We always retard our own businesses by not concentrating on SELLING. We always get caught up in being in business instead of being in sales mode for our business. We got to move our salesmanship angle up to right after picking the right product.

Someone told me to check out your podcasts and I like what you are saying here. Blending the hustle with the business and making the street angles legit. There seems to be a lot of old podcasts I’ll be listening to on the train in the morning. So far so good homie!

Welcome D-Raw – Well glad you fell through homie. Most cats know the book knowledge but lack the hustle. I think it’s a lot easier to get the cat with the knack to do for self than to get the guy with theories to push water. That’s the angle I’m pushing.. Thanks and come back and build with us.

There’s a lot more to making money and often times we get caught up with just having a good idea.

Yea Freeman…. you really hit the ears hard with this one. Keep delivering angles like this and keep your brothers & sisters on track. Refreshed my mind on a few marketing angles now since I’m selling products to women. Good Info.

Since most of us don’t have the gift of gab we just stand outside like we are holding a sign. This is why most cats fail because they forget to persuade cats that they need this!
