Good at it… but you won’t like it.

Most people make money doing something they don’t like at all. Now I’m not talking about jobs as I think business is made up of people who are good at it but would love to get out of it. Shit I’m one of them.. who got a business that makes money but would love to find another more profitable angle. Instead of just accepting it I have been building towards my escape for the last 5 years. The sad truth about money is it’s just a repetitive pattern executed with the hope of perfection which is just plain boring. Now I’m not talking about spending the money because that’s fun.
When you find out what you’re good at in life most likely it’s something you probably didn’t want to do. So you might be a great typist, salesman or good in math. But, you wanted to own your own restaurant and you don’t know the first thing about measuring cups. I think it’s GOD’s cruel joke to make you excellent at something that you would love to get out of. For the crazy people who lie and say they love what they do they probably love that they only have to do it for 6 hours a day but they sure as hell don’t want to be in charge of it.
I know me telling you to make a business out of the thing you are good at sounds crazy…. BUT… it’s the way business is ran. Happiness in attaining money is what makes you happy but the means in which it is created is most of the time boring as hell. Do you think Krispy Kreme dudes love to make donuts the same flavor every damn day? So until they started franchising their business and getting from behind the donut ovens I bet they weren’t happy making you sprinkles. The nature of big money is to make the same product 1 billion times and unless you are crazy that just sounds boring. The money will be great but the damn process of rolling a billion cuban cigars has to be driving Cubanos crazy.
Most of the things I’m good at I usually wouldn’t do even if you pay me. I just decided if I got a skill that pays I might as well pay myself a hell of a lot more. This is why I stress building the empire because you have to take the talents you have and multiply them and buy other businesses that make money. You have to see that hated talent as the money maker and make enough money to get other people to do it for you. That’s the only way I know out of it.

If you can leverage the $ and limit the hrs., you can do more of what you like for more hours of the day.
Welcome Andrew Perkins – The fastest way is to start your own business and then hire other people to run it for you. That way you can get out of the hell that makes money and you can still make the money. If you can franchise it and get people who are invested in it more than just an employee you probably struck gold.
