Go for Broke
Reading time: 2 – 4 minutes
This Myth is kin to other sayings like All or Nothing, Break a Leg and Risk it all! If you believe you need to Go for Broke on anything then you will surely be Broke. I don’t know who wanted you to believe you have to deplete your energy and funds on getting rich but, this is straight BULL! If you are pure about your money making then you give the right amount of effort for it to succeed. Maybe the saying is really saying don’t short yourself or your hustle as I might agree with that.
First, the saying is stupid because who in the hell goes for Broke??? A DumbAss! Second, if you know how to sell and what to sell then you only need to perfect the sell as you already know that the product will move unless you are selling something original. Third, money is not made by a all out effort otherwise Athletes and Genuis’ would have us beat and would be Billionaires by now. Fourth, who starts off their business with the words Broke in any sentence? Finally, look around the fvcker saying it never had any money and is just regurgitating something he thinks is right.
Man lookey here.. we don’t want Broke around our money! Once you get past your first jitters of trying to make money you won’t ever give a all out effort again because that effort was tied into you not knowing what the hell you were doing. Once you get a grip mentally and get a grip literally you’ll know that it’s a matter of setting the game up and pure execution. Money is about getting your game tight and doing the work necessary to bring it into being but it sure as hell ain’t some effort that will result in you losing it all trying to get it.
I know some of you are thinking Freeman always blows something out of proportion. I probably do… but I know not to sabotage my own hustle by even allowing dumb ish to come out of my mouth. If you even have a inkling of a feeling that you aren’t going to make money then why the hell are you doing it? Now I’m not saying you got to go around and correct folk because the Customer loves to believe in fantasy so why wake them up. This Go for Broke saying must’ve been used for someone trying to get put on like a guy trying for head Ballerina at Dance school. But, I don’t know where it fits with Money and the way we should go about getting it.

Never been a big fan of the phrase but I have used it lol. I always preferred the phrase “going all out”. Meaning do whatever it takes and leaving no stone unturned. Hopefully in a few weeks you don’t put out a podcast titled “What does going allout have to do with the chip game” lol. Seriously though I get what your saying. Many times we use phrases without thinking and often they are counter productive to what we are trying to accomplish.
Go for broke sounds like someone gambling who lost all except what little they got and instead of covering their losses, they continue to behave in the reckless behavior of believing in random chances to get more money and end up losing all the money in their pocket.
@Hassan – Naahhh homie I won’t come after your statement at all. Unless there is a broad misconception like the chess & checkers I won’t make up something on it.
People have a LUCK feeling towards money instead of a Destiny feeling. As a result people really deep down inside doubt theirselves and sabotage their chips before they even happen. Now I’m not saying be so resolute like it’s automatic but we should be building, talking and thinking in that direction.
@Ed – It comes from damn Art, Music and Dance. Where this is your one and only chance BREAK A LEG or some other stupid ass saying. When it applies to money who would invest in the guy who seems like he has to take on the world in order to get it?… NOBODY!
It’s just popular Cowardly cultural sayings being applied to everything. This is another reason why cats stay broke as they believe in some kind of martyr effort in order to get money.
It simply shows no discipline. Most people that say this “phrase” have nothing to lose to begin with. They are already broke
I peep what your saying in this post freeman. That’s more of a Glitz and Glamor approach to the revenue retrieving game (shouts to E-40 lol). People mistaken and believe that it is just a step one, step two, and after that I should be straight. This whole thing is a process, and not just making “moves” and be rewarded for it or a damn pat on the back! Screw that!!!!
@LMarie – We have a lot of sayings that make you wonder? There’s always something to lose but are you willing to lose it to get a big gain.
@Kozi -I agree it’s a reward angle usually seen in elementary school. Study all night and get a fvckin A! This is a process and as such there are varying needs that have to be addressed with varying amounts of energy to get them accomplished.
I hate to say it because it’ll scare people but this whole thing is a plan executed as best you can and quick decisions made in the middle of the hustle. Success is the ability to adapt correctly!
From this point on I’m going to just say I’m going to make it. You don’t allow any excuses not even in your choice of words.
If we aren’t talking up then we are talking down. It’s hard enough to convince yourself to take a risk why throw some negative angles into your mix. On the up and up right?
