The Aura

Many people call it swagger or some other cornball word of the year but really it’s just your confidence. In a world full of people who doubt theirselves the person who believes in himself will seem different. Even if you don’t speak a word to most people they will pick up on the feeling you know what you’re doing. You will develop haters especially those who hate to hear that you always have good news. You will develop admirers who feel being next to you will somehow rub off on them. All and all it’s amazing what a little bit of accomplishment will do for you.
I used to think it was something I said or something I did or maybe the look of indifference on my face. I used to think cat’s really had a problem with me and I had to prepare for real combat over stupid ish. People used to tell me I thought I was better than other people but I always responded that I don’t think about anyone that damn much! People would get nervous around me or they would try to show they were smarter, tougher, happier, better dancer, better talker, better game or just overall better than me period. Women would tell me I think you like White girls or that I’m too serious and a whole bunch of other BS because they were intimidated. Grown folks would show me a certain amount of respect even though I had proven nothing to them.
When you start your business and are successful you will develop a certain aura around you. Now I don’t mean you are glowing like Bruce LeeRoy off of Last Dragon! But, I do believe since you no longer doubt yourself or don’t want to follow the crowd it is noticeable. The fact that you believe the solution you propose is the way and are willing to go it alone is usually shocking. You’re going to automatically kick up a little dust with a cat who everyone believes is a genius when you listen to his idea but don’t think it’s great. You will be noticed when you decide that what everyone else is doing is stupid and you just rather stay away from it altogether. Every once in a while you’ll probably into a cat who literally wants to fight you because he wants to get under your skin. People will start looking for parsley flakes in your teeth. People will start to make up fake stories as to why you do anything.
Now you aren’t special in fact you did what anyone could do BUT you did it and probably did it better than they ever would. So your Aura that intimidates others really is a shining example of what they could do and be but are mad at theirselves for never attempting. I know that sounds like some psycho babble but truth be told the only reason they are mad at you is because you are physically close to them. It’s easier for a Sucker to admire greatness from far away but if it’s up close it turns into Hate.
I don’t know if there is anything you can do about it but lay low. Even that will cause people to think you are staying away from them because you are better. Hang in there and know you aren’t alone. Hope you find another cat who got his own to hang around or you’ll endure a life full of people not liking you but probably don’t know why!

@Charles – I think there is a deep seated resentment that most people don’t recognize in theirself. Just because a guy is doing well what in the hell does that have to do with you? Why would that even be a worry of someone?
People don’t hate what they can become people hate what they know they can be and see others living it.
@Shawn – You don’t attract more like minded people at all as if that were the truth there wouldn’t be any haters at all. You find like minded people by building and running into other cats who happen to be building. Even then you might run into people who think you and your hustle are garbage in comparison to theirs.
Only a man who has his own or building towards his own will respect your hustle. You doing for self and not relying on others only shows others what they can be. You will make the intelligent mad at you for showing them the error of their ways and their dumbass philosophy of life.
So you won’t attract like minded people because everyone who has this aura already knows to lay low because it’s the Night of the Living Dead with all these Haters around.
EXTRA: Please don’t call me BRO as I hate to be called that. Call me Brother or call me Freeman but don’t call me BRO! I actually prefer Man as that’s what we are.. I know you didn’t mean anything bad by it at all but I just wanted to put out a PSA on BRO!

But this attitude breeds more hate.
I just laugh, I have other thngs to worry about.
@UBJ – Well if you’re always moving forward you just pass by the people stuck in place. It’s not a concern but a warning to people who may not understand what accomplishment brings. Besides money if you don’t watch it, it will also bring a lot of Haters.
I had this conversation with relatives last night.It went something like…
Them: You lost your aura in the recession.
Me: It was just temporary depression that set up when I couldn’t see my way out of this.
Them: No, you just think we ain’t shit and look down on us, so your aura wasn’t needed just to be around us.
LOL,WTF???? I wasn’t sure what type of response to have. I wasn’t thinking about you all. I was thinking about the fact that I had lost a fortune and went to rock bottom in my 20′s while surrounded with a bunch of brokeass bible thumpers who looked down on me for feeling bad when my life fell apart.
Sometimes, you don’t know you have an Aura.
Confidence is hard to hide! You’re right some people don’t know they have a aura but they do know people are hating on them for no reason. It’s funny as the Haters don’t come out when you’re doing good but they will wait for you to fall.
I got a million Haters waiting on the day that the sun doesn’t shine so bright on me. But, I’m built for building so it’s hard to stop the carpenter from amazing people.

When it’s you you’re just being normal.
You think anybody can do anything.
You see in others what they cannot even see in themselves.
Those who have it just see things from a different view through different eyes.
(Kind of like the Biblical “eyes to see…” analogy.)
The Aura doesn’t disappear in rough times – it may just go inward.
But still – Eff The Haters – I got shit to do.
