Since you never been there you don’t know what to expect. I mean it’s natural to think highly of those you see doing it. I mean even I thought when I got there I would have to be on top of my game and trust no one. As I kept going up and up and up I noticed these cats were C students who happened to take a chance earlier than me. Here I am going about doing everything I touched to perfection and there they were benefiting from my own naive way of going about it. There they were telling me I had to prove myself when in reality all I had to do was my job. There they were trying to keep me busy so I couldn’t figure out that I should be figuring out how to do this exact hustle for myself.

They Are Who We Thought They Were when I had nothing and I knew all I needed was to get myself up to that spot to take these cats head on. They Are Who We Thought They Were when everyone thought I was crazy and started putting doubt into my head that they had a better education or a big head start. They Are Who We Thought They Were when everyone thought I was too aggressive and would have to tone it down because at this level they are not like that. They Are Who We Thought They Were when I used to sit down in Manhattan and watch them walk by trying to figure out what they had that I didn’t have. They Are Who We Thought They Were when the boss tried to discourage me from going any further by acting like there was so much more I had to learn. They Are Who We Thought They Were and what I thought they were was a whole bunch of scary cats more happy with a title than happy with money.

They Are Who We Thought They Were and if I could tell myself to hold onto what I thought when I first started this game I would’ve been so much further ahead. I slowed down doubting myself thinking I had to fit in instead of getting it in. Since I never been there I didn’t know what to expect and I listened to the ways of those who never wanted to go where I wanted to go. I bought into all the facade of success and it took me a couple of years for my original plan to come back to me and once it did I massacred all of those who misled me.
