Where They Are – Podcast
Reading time: 1 – 2 minutes
People are naturally helpful even businessmen. There is always a natural conflict between the businessman and those who want to help the community. There is a way to make money and better your surroundings and it usually requires meeting the buying public Where They Are. Where They Are means providing them things that are aligned with what already is selling as the businessman doesn’t want to create new tastes in a dilapidated market as he’d rather bring more of what works. To the community leaders they want the businessman to be conscious and respect the people in ways that even the public is unaware of. I could write a whole post on this topic but instead listen to the podcast and enjoy….

I enjoyed this podcast because it is saying what anybody going into business should understand – your business should always be about the customer.
Even in 2010, no one came to the hood and asked the people what they want. All they did was open up stuff with a “take it or leave it” or “this is for your good” mentality as if the cats in the hood are just supposed to roll along with that. Then they wondered why their store window is smashed when they show up to open shop in the morning.
Thanks for “grass isn’t always greener” clarification because I keep having to remind people how unaccomplished they sound using that ignorant self-defeatist phrase. I will be the first to tell cats that not only is the grass is greener, but so is the bank account, real talk.
The only people who say that “grass isn’t greener” are cats who never tried and accomplished anything. When you go out and take risks doing what you believe, when you pack up and move out east or out west by yourself to start a new life, you will make that grass greener.
99% of the cats I meet in Atlanta love it and won’t move back to where they came from. It has nothing to do with Atlanta and has everything to do with these cats making Atlanta their greener pastures.
Hey.. who was that in your freatured video over the weekend??
great podcast also
@Ed – People think what they like is what everyone else likes. If that was the case no one would need marketing because every idea is a slam dunk. Meeting people where they are is all about being effective in satisfying the needs of your customers in whatever form they will accept it. Business is about fulfilling needs and introducing new never thought of needs or wants. The game is not about me it’s about you…
The grass greener things pisses me off because it stops cats from taking a chance. Most of the time it’s to stop someone from taking that crazy shot to go for it. That’s what pisses me off about it because there are so few cats going for it that it’s almost guaranteed that anyone who sticks to it will win.
Everyone who succeeded left the good to be great and 100% of the time it’s to see if the grass is greener!
@Hype – The guy you saw in the video was Dr. Dennis Kimbro and he’s the cat who wrote Think & Grow Rich a Black Choice. He has some lectures on Youtube that a cat on backchannels laced me with “O” so click the link below and check him out.
