Naive or Stupid

When you figure the game out just a little bit you’ll attract people who want to get put on. A lot and I mean a lot of people hate when they get to this part of the game. They hate to help people who are not going after it the way they had to. I always liken the cats who think this way to cats who keep up stupid traditions. Don’t get me wrong I get why they hate it so much but since I have had to deal with it so much I have come up with my own way of weeding the fruitless out. There is a difference between someone who is Naive and someone who is Stupid and once you are able to spot the two the better you’ll feel about helping people out.
Naive is one having or showing a lack of experience, judgment, or information; credulous: Example: She’s so naive she believes everything she reads. He has a very naive attitude toward politics.
Usually this is the trait of someone who is young and hasn’t seen enough yet. I mean if any of you have little cousins you’ll hear quite a bit of how they see the world. Most people can deal with it because they know it’s just a matter of time before they grow out of it. I see most people as naive when it comes to money because I have to spend so much time trying to disprove all the fake crap and ghosts in their head. Now I’m not that busy of a cat yet where I feel like talking is a waste of my time so that has a lot to do with it. Teaching Naive people is very rewarding because you can see your information in action.
Stupid is a person who is lacking ordinary quickness and keenness of mind; dull.
This is the kind of guy who never is going to do anything with the knowledge but be a groupie. This is the guy who frustrates most cats in the know. It’s really a waste of life and time when someone shows you something and you don’t immediately act on it. This is why I wrote the R&G because if I had to deal with a lot of stupid cats I would move the hell away. The best way to spot them is they will have nothing to show for all that they know. Stupid doesn’t mean ignorant as stupid can be someone who thinks they already know it all and won’t learn anything new. Stupid can be a person who spends entirely too much time saying, thinking and operating like his f’d past is what is stopping him from moving forward.
So for those in the know you can find out who you are dealing with within two meetings with the cat. If they put wheels on the truck and came back to you asking for more the cat was just Naive. If the cat wants you to help him figure out why he isn’t motivated and why he can’t get started then you are dealing with someone who is stupid. Both type of cats need help but one is a delight to help while the other will make you want to go back to basic instincts of fight or flight. When everyone starts out they are Naive to business and like I said R&G is here to address just that. The issue that stops everyone and everything is someone not realizing that they are stupid and not correcting it.
Stupid is best shown when you are in a relationship. Stupid is when the other person keeps wanting their parents to have been better parents 20 years ago. You can’t solve that and most of the time you get tired of hearing about it. If that person doesn’t figure out how to move on and do better despite that then I think you should ask your local preacher to pray for you!
Bottom Line: Naive is solved by providing information while Stupid can only be solved by the stupid person realizing they are stupid!

I’m glad you wrote this one. I cannot say it better. Naive is treatable with guidance and education Stupid is as Stupid Does and unless the person humbles himself they will never correct it.
I got referred to this site and I see you touch on a lot of topics interrelated to money. I’ll be checking it out and again great topic and great explanation.
Welcome Grass Roots! For those who spend some time trying to raise people up I understand why people give up. Sometimes people just want to be cool and just be there and others are trying to get somewhere.
Keep the referrals coming as I think R&G is about to hit critical mass.
It’s hard to determine the difference at a young age but around 25 years old, it’s easier.
If a person turns 30 years old and ain’t really got ish to show for..that’s a stupid person and that’s the truth.

@Ed – Well you give them the benefit of the doubt when they’re young but once they start to challenge your angles then as a Man you want to see what he’s about. If he ain’t about anything but saying your wrong then you know he is Stupid.
30 is the cutoff age for me too. Either you got through your up and downs of life and are in the process of fighting out of them. OR you are stuck on stupid and as a lost soul wanders aimlessly looking for why you can’t make it happen. The answer is always in them whether it’s overcoming naivety or overcoming theirselves.

Welcome Anon! – We all run into them but we never identify the traits so we can spot them early and adjust accordingly.
Some people need a different type of direction and usually it’s more of a emotional approach. Stupid can be cured but it’s not based on knowledge it’s based off some personal hangup or some stupid theory that hang on to.
So it can be quite frustrating when you are showing them how to do something and they still don’t get it. Like I said it can be remedied but the teacher has to recognize it and teach in a different way.
