Opportunity to be Chose
Reading time: 3 – 4 minutes
Let’s never confuse someone Hustling with someone who is out here creating opportunities to be Chose. Out here in LA you always hear about people going to audition after audition and when I break bread with them I’m supposed to think they are about theirs. Somehow running around from pageant to pageant has been confused with setting up shop on block after block. Somehow the word Hustle for the financially disabled started to turn into just get up and go. Well NO, it’s more about get up and make dough! There are a lot of people putting out mixtapes and battling cats so someone can recognize them. Man I see it everyday on WorldStarHipHop with their unsigned hype videos. But, most cats aren’t paying attention because in the words lie the truth and that is there’s no substance just a bunch of hype.
If you wanted to talk to women and you came up with some lame game if it didn’t work would you keep trying? If your patnas knew that you keep trying but struck out do you think they will admire your Hustle or admire the ability for you to failing? See Hustle has to produce something not a whole bunch of opportunities that never turned into anything. You don’t measure money by standing there you measure money by how many people buy your product. So when you hear people saying that they are out here Hustling think about does he mean that he is creating opportunities to be chose or that the opportunity to make money actually turned into something.
See a lot of people like to talk in terms of Money. In fact right after talking about Sex comes talking about Money because cats know that other people will think of them a certain way. Now I’m not knocking anyone who talks money all the time but anyone who makes some will know you aren’t about it because they want to see this good game manifest. When you are out there creating opportunities to make money you really don’t have much to talk about until you actually make money. Good game is tested by how effective it is not on how good it sounds. What most cats are doing nowadays is window shopping talking about what they would do when/if they ever get a chance to get a opportunity. Now there are so many of them out there together they click up and go through all the procedures and buy all the clothes of success. They attend all the meeting and network with all the people they need to know and think in their head that means they are HUSTLING. Nothing ever materializes from what they do but they sure as hell did a lot for nothing.
Recognize the difference and make the adjustments right now. If your whole angle on Money requires so many steps before you actually get Money then most likely you are doing it wrong. If your whole angle on Money is to run around town looking for ways to make people notice you then most likely you are doing it wrong. If your whole angle on Money requires you to generate buzz about your product instead of you just presenting your product then most likely you are doing it wrong. There is a opportunity alright it’s just you keep counting your losses as Hustle instead of counting your Money as Hustle.
Solution: Don’t swap the spit about what Hustle really is. If it doesn’t lead to Money then call it something else like Gumption or some other cornball word!

That last paragraph is so explicit, I going to refer a lot of cats I’m hearing from to it.
This reminds me of the flaws with multi-level marketing where these cats are more focus on looking good, talking about what can happen, ask me to show up as meetings and “seminars” but when all is said and done…….they trying to peddle an inferior product no one wants to buy….but they still on that shallow ish…
It’s funny how Avon and Mary Kay multi-level marketing works so well because they actually have a product and a market, but the Black community be in these weird ass MLM like they crew-hopping just to have that face of success…
I agree with the commenter above. Many people confuse hustle thinking that by looking the part dressing to the nines that thats hustling. In reality looks or the way you dress does not matter! I have known people who have lots of money and they dont even look like they do. When i worked in Sales back in the day i noticed that the ones dressed in suits and fancy clothing were the ones with no money and the one that looked like a blue collar worker always paid in cash. Its funny how life can be like that. I agree with the old saying “Never judge a book by its cover!”
To me HUSTLE+BUILDING=MONEY! There’s the formula lets make it happen!!!
@Ed – You’re right on about Avon and Mary Kay, the key is they have a product. Most MLM’s be on some cornball angle like minutes for phones and crap like that.
We have a lot of people who tell you that they lift weights but months and months go by without any growth. Some people are gym groupies and there are a lot of people who are groupies to Hustle. Cats have to learn to concentrate on the money not just being in the game. Parking lot pimping at it’s finest!
@gallego71 – Most people who don’t have a cornball sales pitch make money because they present the product not themselves. What do you want the plumber who has on clean overalls or the guy who looks dirty with tools in hand? We got a lot of amateurs going out into the world with all the right looks but make no money. So they comeback changing the word hustle to mean what they are doing. I just wanted to clarify what it really is so people don’t mistake the two. Until what I do turns into something then all that I say means nothing. That’s just the way it is!
Cats are following the follower instead of following the leaders. Leaders produce followers hope to recreate what the leader does.
Very powerful stuff written here and in the comments!
