Learn & Leave

Reading time: 2 – 4 minutes

There just comes a time when you have seen enough and there is no more room for growth. Hustle must be able to see the situation for what it is. You must be able to see the end of all of your Hustles even before you start. Hustle is a strategy if executed properly leads to you standing on your own, not owing anyone, not reporting to anyone and most of all not depending on anyone. There is a big learning curve that has to be tackled by all Hustlers in training (H.I.T) . Most Suckers take the long route and think they can learn everything without coming into contact with anyone, or they wait for years waiting for their Boss to make them partner. As a Hustler you must be able to strategically go through your life learning Hustle from those doing it directly and setting a date when you will leave.

The Learn & Leave mentality keeps the Hustler moving from Hustle to Hustle. This mentality will never be understood by a Sucker. As a kid growing up Suckers were taught to stay at one place so it looks like they worked someplace for a long time on their resume, or it looks like you are a solid guy, or it looks like you have enough experience. Now to the world you might look a certain way but in reality you will be BROKE. The Learn & Leave mentality just helps set automatic quitting points for the average person. If you are going to have a job be there for a purpose, don’t just work to work. No one wants to really work for another person so you have to think about what you want to get out of it besides a paycheck.Money is not about loyalty. If the owner of a company is facing hard times they will most likely fire you, so why are most Suckers loyal to their job.

Everything you do up to the point where you actually have your own Hustle going is a deal you make between the owner and yourself. Sometimes you happen to be under the right person early in your Hustle and you are able to learn more than most. No matter the situation good or bad the H.I.T.must be ready to leave the nest and fly on their own. If you Learn & Leave in the right way a Seasoned Hustler will respect you wanting to stand on your own two and will tell you the next area to Hustle. The Seasoned Hustler might also see your value and loyalty and make you partner in the Hustle. It’s really up to you when you decide to leave or if you decide to become a partner.

BottomLine: Until you Hustle for yourself, you have to Learn from others and Leave as soon as you have that knowledge.

Can I just say that I enjoy the site a lot. I know you are doing this to inform Black people and I am one that is happy to read it. The podcasts are funny but as you say laymen and the blogs are thought provoking in a quick short form. I’ve been here since you started but never said anything but today with the Guest Podcasts and everything you do I wanted to let you know I appreciate it.

I know there are many more who come to your site and never say much but I wanted to stop being that GHOST.

Thanks for the compliment! I’m not looking for someone to turn into Reginald Lewis but it would be nice if R&G was mentioned in their autobiography. LOL

Keep coming back especially in February as I have something special planned!

Ok I got it but when should I leave and since it’s a recession is this still relevant. I think I know enough to do it myself but wonder if this is the right time. I am in the healthcare field and I work for a small outfit where the guy started his own so I’m thinking why can’t I.

It’s still relevant but it just means your savings might need to increase by 25%. I myself didn’t quit my job until I had my own company completely set up. So I quit on Friday and was doing for self by Monday.

When I left I had a complete list of all my former employers vendors. I contacted the software company that we leased software from. I made copies of all forms that I normally used on a daily basis. I knew the prices that I should charge. I even looked at office space in the same building I was currently working but decided it would be cheaper to just work out of my apartment.

Now all that took about 3 months. So while you may know how to do your job when you open up you need to do everyone’s job. If you are making money just stick it out for a couple more months until you know everyone’s job. Even if you will never do them if your company takes off you will have to hire and train them so it’s just good knowledge to have anyway.

Bruh! Stack knowledge, pay attention to all the angles involved, set up shop on the under and then give notice with no notice. I’m all for it because there isn’t a timetable as much as a TO DO list that once completed let’s you know it’s time to bounce.

By the way I like the new layout and the little Africa baby is new!

You got it! It is like a to do list because everyone wants to leave but do they really sit down and get all the elements to be successful when the leave. You got to get your costs and you got to get all the papers you need. You got to be able to run the Hustle like they told you to go home and run it out of your house.

The layout was because I thought it was better but it doesn’t move. The logo was a change as we progress through life from the kid on the corner to the young boy with a better sense of himself.
