Stuck On Stupid (SOS)
Reading time: 2 – 4 minutes
She’s gone Bro! That’s what was said in the movie Dead Presidents when Delilah got shot and killed when they robbed the armored truck for Chips. In Hustle you will run into people who are still trying to bring a dead idea back to life. A lot of these cats had a great idea but due to the scale of the idea or due to unforeseen circumstances they missed their opportunity. The problem is this cat is still working on the old idea like they got a classic Mustang in the garage and they are never going to get that thing to start. You can always tell the cat Stuck on Stupid by them always talking about an idea for the years that you knew them but they never brought it into being. It’s a sad sad thing to watch because most of these cats just refuse to move on and accept failure.
Most cats don’t like to say they failed but in Hustle you will fail more than once as I have myself. The difference is most cats know it’s part of a process and they move on immediately. They recognize to shut that losing idea down and take the scraps and try again with a better angle. The SOS guy just refuses to believe that they wasted so many years on a idea that will never work. When they thought of it, it was going to be a game changer. Now the only thing it changed was the black hair on their heads to gray! You also have to watch out for this type of cat because they are bitter towards anyone they see and any new ideas that are proposed. They think their idea is the greatest things since toilet paper and since you can’t quite see their Loch Ness Monster you’re idea is not better than their imaginary friend.
Even worse is the SOS sucker is telling you their idea over and over again. It’s hard to snap this cat out of his misery because he’ll be working on this idea when time has changed the game. This is the type of cat who invents the VCR when the world has moved onto Blue Ray. What this cat never realizes is the goal is to make money not necessarily to invent the toaster. See if the SOS would have made a working model of it he could’ve reaped the reward of bringing it to market getting money and then hiring more people to bring out a new and improved version. So since they are SOS they think they don’t want to embarrass themselves or lose their idea to others who might take it and run. So in their own paranoia of sitting on the goose that lays the golden egg of an idea they end up killing the Damn Goose!
SOS cats are like watching an Alcoholic as they can’t seem to get Sober and recognize the world and move on. There will always be people with great ideas but only the Hustler knows to hurry up and bring them to market!

I agree. I think once we kill the B.I.T.C.H in us then and only then do we get stuck off of stupid and move forward. Because it is true that you either kill it or deal with it for the rest of your life.
I think one really becomes a SOS when they allow their emotions to stop them from learning and trying. If valuable information is out here for anyone to use for their enhancement of their lives and they allow their emotions to stop them from making money and people are literally telling them how. Then the stupid person ends up being the one who can’t take care of their families and end up looking for handouts.
I know I got money makers in the mix. My cousin and I are working on getting a deal put together now that should spring us up to the level where we are trying to get to and do for self and others.
When we hit it that’s when I will be back. Until then Take care.

One question do you know about how to get an International patent? I googled it and I called and keep getting the run around? Because isn’t best to get an International patent then just a US one?
this is soooo gonna be me if i dont stop bullshittin.
@Freedom – You don’t need a international patent until you are actually taking your idea outside of the USA. Until then the regular patent and trademark office will do. Otherwise you should take your idea to a patent lawyer so they can do it properly because filing for a patent is very detailed.
@Keish – A lot of people are SOS on their idea. That’s why you see me hurry up and put out the business and worry about the details later. People think they are sitting on a gold mine but until they let everyone see it might just be a coal mine!
Thank you. We found an attorney to look over it for us. I know this is just the beginning and my cousin and I have a whole lotta work ahead of us, but at least it is a start in the right direction!
Yeah if it’s a big idea it’s best to protect it first and pay a lawyer just to look over it. So many people forget to lock down their ideas and end up losing them when they go out and get financing. The Snuggie is actually a stolen idea from the original guy who made the Slanket!
Someone very close to me falls into this category. But instead of a dead product X has an excellent product that people are chasing X for. But since X keeps acting like X is running more of a hobby than a business, while talking about how X needs to do blah blah blah to make it take off. I’d say X is completely stuck on stupid!.
The stupidity is so bad that other people keep asking me why don’t you use your expertise to help X with this or that because they see how good the product is and how much demand is out there already. The worse part is when people tell me ideas about what X should do and I have to tell them: yeah that’s a great idea, actually it was a great idea when I suggested it to X last year.
Well most of the time you can’t say anything to them because they still believe they are inventing toilet paper. I get mad because I get tired of hearing about it all day. Don’t worry they usually don’t want any advice and they will be working on that idea til it’s past due. By the time they finish there will be a whole other reality that comes into being and they’ll have the best of something that can’t sell. Wasting years on something nobody wants anymore.
