Space to be a Fool
Reading time: 2 – 2 minutes
Some of the most lucrative hustles around involve giving people the opportunity to live out their dreams. The more you are able to allow people to purchase the appearance of Class, Sex Appeal, Wealth, Intelligence and Popularity people will give you money. They will damn near pay you for the opportunity which is weird because they will pay to play. The reason why this works so much is because of a deep psychological need to show the world your ass!
Now I don’t mean literally your ass but more along the lines of the need to express who you think you are. The game has been setup that most people feel its their right to get their 15 minutes of fame. Its been drilled in us for so long that you think if you don’t get your one chance to “so called” live it up then it’s a life wasted. Out here in LA every summer there are a bunch of runaway whites sitting on Melrose thinking they are going to be discovered by sitting on the street panhandling or waiting tables. In NY the same angle goes down but this time with Singers and people who want to be on Broadway.
In the game of money at the levels we are trying to reach we have to remain disciplined and not fall into the traps of Fame and Fortune. All we want is Fortune, so you have to control your brainwashed impulses to show the world your ass. Whether that be in the clothes you dress in, the car you drive in and the places you choose to entertain yourself and the people you entertain. As Denzel Washington said in the movie American Gangster “The Loudest one in the Room is the Dumbest One in the Room”

I agree…the strong move quiet.
Don’t get it twisted people really want to show their ass. They think living it up is wearing the best clothes, being in VIP, arriving in a Bentley, having drugs in the air, and sexing a whole bunch of random women. LMBAO! I know you think I’m making it up but a lot of cats have this vision and they are trying to execute what they see on TV.
I’m just saying behind the buffoonery lies the cat making all the chips. He gets you into VIP and gets you that Ace of Spade. He allows you to do a line of coke, allows you to have a private room to sex a stripper. He allows you to live out your fantasies and believe me it’s big business.
We just have to control ourselves because it’s a CON based off our most basic instinct of Vanity. If you are really about money you want to keep a low profile period. A lot of cats really don’t make the connection to see most wealthy people are on the low about all of their life.
Our community has just been told wealth means acting a damn fool!
I know you aren’t making it up…I’m from the hood so I see it all the time. Have quite a few of these fools in my family. lol
“Out here in LA every summer…” LOL You left off the part about how they end up on Hollywood Blvd. selling their *ss by the following Spring.
@Keish – I grew up with them too and you watch how they prepare to show off if only for one night. Then come back and talk about who they saw and what they drank and who was in VIP. It’s a fun story to listen to but the ish gets old after a while.
@Carl – LBMAO, C’mon man I didn’t want to show how those same people then turn into a ugly version of the movie pretty woman. I wanted to keep it PG.
@freeman…it gets old for us, not them. smh
@carl…sad, but i’m sure it’s true
I always have to ask club owners what it is they’re trying to sell.
Most say “Liquor”. But then I explain that the patrons could just go to a liquor store and buy a bottle for the price of one drink.
Others say, “The decor”. But people can go to a furniture store our art gallery to see nice things.
When I finally explain that they are selling “Fun”, many don’t quite get it.
But “Fun” is like that sloppy ho that is really good in bed who takes all a sucker’s money.
The sucker knows that he was robbed, but he can’t wait to do it again.
@Keish – You are right about that because I stopped trying to find a good club years ago. All of this dirty life just makes you look like a old pervert in the club. I don’t want to dye my hair or wear skinny jeans I’ll just stack chips and enjoy my life instead of trying to stay in the limelight.
@UBJ – Well God knows you are selling a feeling, an emotion and a memory. People are willing to come out of all the money in their pocket for a fun memory. Like you said even if it’s a sloppy ho they still want the fun times and a story of when they got robbed by Roseanne Bahr. The game is set up to pull money out of your pockets for dumbass reasons.
lmfao…i neva understood until recently y men go for that sloppy ho. this touches on one of the posts i put up recently, how so many luv to feed their bodies instead of minds & spirits
Most people look for instant gratification even if the person is lying to them. C’mon this is why a woman likes compliments and lets that game override her knowing the guy is just saying anything to impress her.
I’m not faulting cats for falling for it. I’m just saying for those who aspire for more you can’t fall for less.
You are talking Real talk. Too many in our community are piss poor folks trying to impress other piss poor folk who don’t like or give a dang about each other.Stamping their behinds with other folks brands who walk around in jeans and designer tee’s with their wallets and bank accounts fat. Call em on it bruh. Great site.
if we want them not 2 fall 4 it, they have 2 be taught early on
@Robin – Welcome! What’s funny to me is everyone knows they don’t have any money but they still go along with the illusion. How many people going to keep acting this way but deep inside they know all of us really don’t got it this way! SMH
@Keish – I agree because you have to change the values of people at a very early age otherwise they won’t know it’s all fake.
“The loudest one in the room is the dumbest one in the room”
I think that pretty much says it all.
