Chef and/or the Cook

Reading time: 2 – 3 minutes

top-11-chef-momentsMost Hustlers fall into two categories either the Chef or the Cook. They both are trying to get money but they just approach getting it in a different way. Most Hustlers go through stages where they have to switch between the Cook and the Chef. Seasoned Hustlers possess both and use them depending on the situation.
.
The Chef is a specialist and produces works of art. The Chef is usually a artist of some sort and can be seen in a painter, musician, poet, programmer, or a web designer. These Hustlers feel perfection is worth going after and they do not waste time on mass production. The strength of the Chef is they produce genuine originality and can afford to produce when they want. The Chef usually is recognized as a genius in their field of Hustle. The Chef knows people are willing to wait 30 minutes outside the restaurant for a chance to eat one of their dishes. The Chef still maintains the basics of Hustle, owning the rights and distribution of their talents, staying humble in the eyes of the public, and building something. It’s just the Chef is so original the money is guaranteed.
.
The Cook is a opportunist he is very good at maximizing any chance like it will be the only one. The Cook is usually the head of movies, records or any company in which you have to strike while it’s hot. The Cook is a mass producer and intends to distribute the Hustle to any many places as possible. The strength of the Cook is they are a part master architect and part master executioner. The Cook finds out what is selling and sits in the kitchen and sells as many hamburgers as he can make during lunch. The Cook is about moving units while recognizing the Hustle may dry up on him. The Cook will crank out out 3 albums in one year while the Hustle is hot. The Cook recognizes the season they are in and adjusts masterfully.
.
Bottomline: the Cook and the Chef will succeed at their Hustle, it’s just the person who mastered both is truly Seasoned.

    I think I’m a chef because I’m more detailed! I just don’t have a specialty yet! LOL

Well it’s really a difference in personality. Most of you artists are chefs so the idea of mass producing their Hustle is a nightmare to them. Your cook is more like your guy who sells the Slap Chop meaning the whole goal is to move units and get it into every home.

The best person will capitalize and realize when the product calls for that specific personality to come out. Some things need to be unique while others need to get put out there for everyone to consume.

Ok, I’m home and I got to be on the Short order cook angle cuz I rather flip them burgers. I get what you mean by being seasoned as the cat who figures out when to apply different game is going to make money coming and going.

    WTF?
    You’re writing poetry now?
This example is one I gotta’ steal for my own use in dealing with these bad ass little kids I’m helping out (making the transition from football to basketball season and dealing with progress reports).

@Califormula – it’s just a timing issue and recognizing when to use one or the other. The problem is cats feel they have to be one when to fully reap the chips you need to be both.

@UBJ – I don’t even know where you seen me rhyme but it might be a hidden talent.

Yeah use the analogy because it’s really the difference between a detailed oriented person and a big picture person. So the lesson applies to any situation where one has to chose between how to go about attacking their hustle.

Not that it rhymes – but that it is better than standard prose.

Well it’s the law school in me because there is a method to the writing that shows up. Like I said it’s a hidden talent because I actually loathe poetry!
