@Freedom - Hey I know what you meant but sometimes I have to use your example to make sure others don't misinterpret. Right now this is my job so it's not a big deal.

@UBJ - A good example is a Handyman. He is handy and versed in a multitude of household issues. This guy is known for having a general idea about a lot and if he can't do it you get a good person who is trying to fix the problem. Hustle is the same as one thing usually leads to another and another until you are just a general contractor.

It goes to my original angle of trying your hustle until it overtakes your 9 to 5. Overall we want independence and free time so we have to try things at a risk level of that it may work. Once you start doing it you'll master it and add that to your arsenal of skills. One day they'll all be marketable together and you have a company on your hands!

Celebrities become a Brand.
Everyday people can the the same by developing the reputation for being good at many things. (Or even just a few.)
Think; Donald Trump.
He is a developer primarily, but he has parlayed that into a clothing line, television show and being a spokesman.

Most peole without money assume that that one good job will solve all of their problems.
But most people with those good jobs also have a side hustle too.
Doctors own shops, restaraunts, bars, laundry mats, car washes, whatever - only to make more money (Even though they spent years becoming a doctor.)

Old school women used to sell cookies, candy and Kool-Aid pops, after returning from their regular job, to the local kids. Husbands used to mow lawns. Sometimes these side jobs became businesses that earned more than their regular job.
My neighbor built and bought his house after establishing a lawn service that he grew by servicing those he used to work for.
He now has a fleet of trucks and services the city, the local university and local developments.
My grandmother was a nurse who used to rent her converted garage to people who were visiting sick relatives in the hospital across the street.
She parlayed this into many houses and apartment complex before she quit nursing altogether.

@Keish...I woke this morning and thought about you :)
For your children's book you can do also do an e-book to start things off! Many children are using the Internet now at home, daycare, after school programs, and at school. You can also contact black private schools and the boys and girls clubs to sell your product. You get your e-book self copyrighted and give them a sample since you have already written several stories. And for the illustrations you can get with a art/illustrator/graphic design student to do a couple virtual sketches and use them over and over for series of stories. Again my mind fell on you this morning and this topic.

@FreeMan...Yeah u know i will meet you head on too to let you know what I meant LMBO. Stay on your job your doing good!

The sky is limit, which means there is NO LIMIT But the ones we put on ourselves!

Once your first hustle pays off you can parlay that money into a lot of businesses. For the celebrity their celebrity can be lent to many other avenues. In a regular person scenario we have to keep our eyes open for opportunity despite them not being related. So many people see opportunities but talk themselves out of it by saying I don't know how to sell clothing or sell online.

If you want to make money one way I guess you stick to it but every time I made money something new was revealed to me and I tried to take advantage of it.

Rappers (more than most other celebrities besides J.Lo) are doing this now.
They have become their brand.
Many rap, act, own reataraunts or other businesses or products.
This ensures revenue in one market while the other may be suffering.

@Freedom - I'm just doing my job! I have to make sure when I see something that can mislead people I address it head on.

People want to believe in their limitations instead of their possibilities!

Now you know I didn't mean just DO ONE thing! I've being riding long enough to disspell that myth!!

Shoot I know there have been many companies that have went under from putting all their eggs in ONE basket. Hell the right lawsuit can wipe anybody out who doesn't understand to build a mutifaceted Empire!

Thanks for explaining the pattern.

@Freedom - No it doesn't mean doing ONE thing! It means try them all and if you can all at the same time. You can't afford to put all your eggs in one basket and hope that one will work. All ideas are good and just because you don't see how it will pan out doesn't mean it shouldn't be tried or shelved.

The pattern for making money is simple. Find a product/service, get the market rate from your competitors, price it 10% cheaper than all your competitors, give more value to your customers either in speed or comfort and make sure you stay on top of your money!

So it doesn't matter what you are selling from Soda to shoes to massage therapy the same basic rules apply. That's why I say it's a basic pattern. People just think selling Helicopters are different from selling bottled water. Same pattern it doesn't matter what the hell the product is!

@TrueMan - Welcome! Right it's all about creating more streams of revenue. The overall goal is to have 10 companies yielding 1000 a month instead of waiting for 1 company to yield 10000!

Great article. It's like diversifying an investment portfolio so you maximize opportunities and try to limit losses. You can also build on your individual hustles and connect them somehow (blog to webstore). Get as many streams of revenue as you can.
