Everyone knows if it Look Like a Duck, Walk Likes a Duck, Talk Like a Duck, it must be a duck. Hustle does not have the same rules as said in that line above. You can look it walk it and talk it and still not have it. Currently, there are over 9 million residents around the globe classified as millionaires. So that means it must be rare to see anyone who really is worth a million dollars.
When you are in NY, LA, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami or any other show me city you will see a ton of Suckers. (Now you may be one of them so take this to the heart) It’s like Easter Sunday the way these Suckers put on their little dresses with the frills, trick off their money, and flash wads of money. If you Google right now there will be a lot of Suckers flashing a thousand 1 dollar bills saying they are millionaires. Some have even taking it so far as to name themselves after money.
In Hustle the goal is to reach that Mil ticket so we can join that 9 million. On the road there looking walking and talking isn’t going to fool anyone, but some Suckers. Its better to be respected for being on the road to the riches than lying and acting like you already have it. Hustle is the way so just stay disciplined, stop tricking or trying to impress someone else. Anyone with real money knows you don’t have it and they are just laughing at you for wasting your money.
Bottom Line: Either you have it or you don’t! Only a sucker looks like it!

The odd thing is; most people with real money enjoy helping someone who doesn’t have much but who does well with what they have get even more.
They recognize the potential to handle the responsibility of money.
It’s amazing how much I’ve just had given to me, instead of having to pay for it, by those who saw potential.
It’s having a “Build” mentality – not a “Consume” mentality that gets noticed.
I concur with the Build vs Consume mentality. On my way I have gotten help from people who saw what I was trying to build. They recognized way before me that I was on to something when all I thought to myself was to keep pushing without a real end in sight.
Everyone is willing to help the person who helps themselves. It’s ironic most who can help themselves don’t ask for help and those who won’t do for self are always looking for a hand out!
I just had to address that stupid saying that clothes make the man, dress for success or act like you are already there. There is no substitute for actually getting there. Everything before that is in the building stage but should not be mistaken for the end game!
some ppl believe in that fake it til u make it bullshyt but i don’t. if i’m broke, i’m broke. nobody is that important for me to front for.
my father was very old fashioned and “cheap” so i’m not materialistic at all but i do spend to have a good time so that’s where my problem is. my mindset is changing though where i’m thinking more like a seller than a consumer and that’s the direction i want to stay going. like i literally find myself thinking how much the storeowner must have paid from clothes to electronics to liquor. lol
The problem is most never make it. That saying must’ve been made by the suit makers of America so everyone can go dress up for a job, life and position they will never have. I’m going to make up my own BS saying so you can buy my product.
I’m probably more like your pops bcuz I barely see anything of any real value to buy. It’s not cheap it’s just realizing orange juice is orange juice so why pay more because it has a bottle shaped like bleach. You spend money to have a good time because you have made spending the money a part of having a good time. You just have to find something else and use that to celebrate. Blowing money is fun on TV but in real life you sit back saying you wish you would’ve kept more.
Congratulations! You are moving from one side of the table to the other. I think that’s the first step is starting to say how much did he get that for because that stops you from just paying without thinking. The more you read and analyze the game the more you’ll see how easy it is to come up on the thinking of the masses.
That’s why documentaries like The Century of Self are so eye-opening, because it really breaks down how we came to equate consumption with success. There was a time when people bought a new coat because they needed a new coat, not to make a fashion statement.
At the same time, I have to quote Robert Cialdini from his book Influence – The Psychology of Persuasion:
“You and I exist in an extraordinarily complicated stimulus environment, easily the most rapidly moving and complex that has ever existed on this planet. To deal with it, we need shortcuts. We can’t be expected to recognize and analyze all the aspects in each person, event, and situation we encounter in even one day. We haven’t the time, energy, or capacity for it. Instead, we must very often use our stereotypes, our rules of thumb to classify things according to a few key features and then to respond mindlessly when one or another of these trigger features is present.”
I’m not into the whole fronting thing myself, but I can see why someone would use fronting as a strategy to get to the upper levels when networking with other people. But there are too many people, especially here in Atlanta, who do it for the sake of their egos. That’s definitely some sucker shit.
My favorite clue that a person is just trying to get put on is when in the first few minutes of meeting me they ask “what do you do?” That simple question tells me immediately that they can do nothing for or with me. Good luck bottom-feeders.
@Ron – L@ respond mindlessly when one or another of these trigger features is present. I’m going to have to go and pick up that book because that line is the ESSENCE of why I am so against Networking in it’s current form. Full of people who look right, talk right, laugh right but can’t do right.
I’m watching the Century of Self right now on Google video. Hey Ron keep dropping the books and the knowledge. It’s always great to find proof of a like mind through books. Until we all find a way to build together the recommendation of books will raise all of us collectively.
@Carl – Man you make me laugh man. Now what do you do could just be regular convo but I guess you can tell what they are really getting at. Man if I ever need a word or phrase to make someone feel like shit I’m going to hit you up. You say some shit that will stop a MFer mid sentence. LOL
Hey it’s a gift! Somebody has to be ready to call “bullshit!” when they see it. Weren’t you just commenting a little while ago about people passing out their ridiculous business cards to get a little credibility? Same kinda people, same situation.
Seriously though, I don’t know if I fully agree with the motivation mentioned in the quote Ron just noted. But the last line accurately explains a lot of really bad choices people make. I guess I need to read that book.
@Carl – Yeah I think those passing out cards are ridiculous. But I don’t call them bottom feeders, the most vulgar I get is calling people Suckers!
The film Ron recommended is pretty good. More ammo!
If we look deeper into the stats of these residences of these Millionaires we will find a theme with them. Most of these people are married or have a parnter and have TWO Incomes Building Up that Mil Ticket. You see these millionaires learned something early on in the game…..
They have learned TWO Hustlers are ALWAYS BETTER THAN ONE!
Stability helps anyone grow so having a spouse who keeps things in order is always a benefit. Most people don’t recognize that a solid family is usually the reason why people can think clearly and build. It protects them from the opinion of others outside the family and overall keeps you from hanging around the wrong crowd.
@Freeman, definitely! I saw it last year. Slightly different topic (depending on how you see it) but you should check out “Power of Nightmares”. It’s by the same producer. As usual, you have to get an outside view to see what’s going on in this country.
@Carl – Yeah I watched all 4 hours last night. Very interesting documentary and gives you another reason to call someone a devil. I’ll check out the one you recommend tonight as all this stuff is interesting and gives me something to do besides watching SportsCenter or NBA TV team practices.

What Ron was saying that because of consumerism mentality of Americans, it is quite easy to “fake it until you make it” if you understand the psychological marketing theories described in Century of Self.
On the news the other day, some sista in Ohio driving around in a Hummer limo told people she going to buy stuff for them in a store. These people didn’t even bother to see if it was true but ran and pulled clothes off shelves and racks – this is the kind of people we got in this country who listen instead of learn.
I don’t want to get wealthy that way, you don’t need a lot of money to get the cars, clothes and garden tools. I believe having a fulfilled honest life where you can go to sleep knowing you did right by your people and made money honestly is priceless in itself..
@Ed – Sorry it went to spam I have it set to that whenever someone provides a link.
Yeah Century of Self was pretty interesting along with Power of Nightmares. Both of them let you know there are some devilish people manipulating the masses based off nothing but a paranoia they have based off a loose theory. Both were insightful but also just really eye opening to see how people are herded like sheep to a certain end that they believe they logically came to theirselves.
Well I want the empire! Now the empire doesn’t mean all the material crap but the ability to create and determine my own existence and protect myself from the paranoia of others. The best I can do for my people is show them the way to a higher level of freedom by attaining the money of this country to stand in a better position. Instead of begging and hoping we can shield ourselves from the paranoia and outright devilishness of others.
