School Isn’t for Everyone or is It?
Reading time: 3 – 4 minutes
Now I don’t agree with that at all but if you want an excuse as to why you aren’t where you are that sounds like the statement you can use. I hear people say that whenever someone who is stuck in their position doesn’t get promoted. I hear people say that whenever someone who has just been fired didn’t take advantage of retooling so they can get a new job. I hear people say that whenever someone who makes money now is living on top but forget all about that when they lost it all and are on bottom.
Look School is just the means for you to learn how to run your own business. They teach you everything you need to know to come into someone else’s business and maintain their money. So an education is important but if you are just going to get a BS job with it then I guess I can see your point. If you thought school was there to teach you how to build then you are in the wrong place. Real Talk school and education are there only to make you fit into their current system.
School is important to your business because you will learn things that you will not cross in your normal life. I mean how are you going to learn about Marketing, Finance, Management and the like. I know a Smart Ass right now is saying you can read the books without going to school. You’re right but are you reading them now and when did you plan to start your free education? School is about exposure to the way that most people handle business and the terms they use. So once you stop doing your high school hustle you are going to run into people who know all aspects of money. So if you want to be up on it and not get swindled by your lawyers, accountants and marketing firm you need to get a education.
Most Suckers who make money lose it because they have no idea where to put it, how to watch it and how to build on it. Now your basic Hustle skills can make money but you need a education to keep it and build upon it. Yes, the knowledge is free but sometimes it’s better to have people explain it to you instead of buying a Marketing Textbook. Look I know the way school is taught right now is on some ol BS but you have to understand if you want to make money you need to appeal to what the masses know. The banks deal in these terms, people from other countries deal in these terms, lawyers deal in these terms and hopefully someday you’ll deal in these terms. Now I said they deal in these terms you and I need to build upon these terms!
Bottom Line: School Isn’t for Everyone but MONEY IS! So whatever has to be done, learned, tried and retooled don’t let that dumbass excuse keep money out of your pocket!

I think that’s a little misleading. “School”, in the traditional sense of studying for years to gain a degree is definitely not for everyone. But you have to have some kind of education as your basis. As you mentioned, that can be training in a very specific area like Finance or Marketing. Or something like an apprenticeship in brick-laying. Maybe something even less formal like a teenager working with his uncle who repairs houses; like I did.
The fact is, you can’t just jump out there. You have to have some kind of “schooling”. I think people who want to believe that education is not important would stop at the title of this post and start babbling about how Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard as their rationale for dropping out of high school.
I don’t get how having a formal education is a bar for business. The truth of the matter is if you’re going to blow up you will hire educated people. Your accountant, lawyer and you dentist all went to school. The game is not letting that schooling retard your common sense on money.
You do not have to dress up, speak the Kings english nor network in order to make money. What you see with the educated is uneducated approach to making money. They all look the same, talk the same, went to the same school and know the same thing and then wonder why they can’t get ahead.
Formal education is good because you get to know what the average sucker knows so you can manipulate and capitalize on their assumptions. You have to know the game in order to beat people at it.
Bill gates was a rich kid with access to a mainframe in the 70′s. Let’s not mix up that some of these cats had exposure to things and game because of their fathers hustle. They cannot be seen the same because they had a life long apprenticeship.
I was almost with you until you said your piece in the above comment about what you dont have to do. I believe that college was the best 4 years of my life. I went to an inner city high school in LA and I never thought that I wouldn’t go to college. However that is just me but I do know several people that I went to high school with that did not go to college however there was some kind of training that had to do in order to kepp money in their pocket. I can respect a hustle and I often wish that I had mor eof a hustlr about myself but I beleive that we all must take some sort of time and effort to educate ourselves. It may not be school for you but you will have to learn something and you will have to work at it even if that includes networking. Networking can be anywhere and all time – in the barbershop, supermarket, gas station or coffee shop.
No, you dont always have to work fo yourself and yes you can have folks that work for you but how often have you heard someone say that I thought that they had my bad. I didnt know this so I hired him/her and they got me. When you dont take the time to educate yourself or simply invest yourself who are you really hustling?
@Freckles – Welcome! Almost with me is close enough most of the time LOL
Now that I read your comments I think you are closer to what I am saying. The bottomline of the post is if you want money don’t let a small thing like getting educated be your excuse as to why you didn’t get where you needed to go. In other words I think you need school!
Around any money you need to be aware and educated because people will take 3 bucks from the mcdonald’s register. So I think we are on the same page maybe I just mixed you up on the response.
